When is the best time to fish in Seward?

What does change across the season
These are the things you can plan around, because they are structural rather than annual.
- Daylight. Seward is far enough north that midsummer runs very long and late season does not. It changes how early a boat can leave and how a full day feels.
- Sea state. Resurrection Bay is sheltered and the Gulf outside it is not, so a rough week hits the halibut run harder than a day inside the bay. Shoulder weeks are more likely to give you a cancelled or shortened trip.
- How busy the harbour is. The good operators book out. Later booking means fewer choices, not necessarily worse fishing.
