Why is this policy so short?

Because the site does very little. It is a set of static pages about fishing charters, with no database, no login and no basket. The one thing you can send it is a message through the contact form, and only if you choose to.

A longer policy would mean describing data handling that does not happen. That is misleading in the direction that flatters — it makes a small site look substantial and it is false.

No accounts, and one optional form

You cannot create an account on Seward AK Fishing Charters, because there is no account system. There are no comment boxes, quote requests or mailing-list sign-ups anywhere.

The contact form, on the contact page. It asks for your name, your email address, an optional topic and your message. When you press send, your browser posts those four things to this site's own address, and nowhere else. The form also contains one field you never see: an empty anti-spam trap that only automated software fills in. There is no newsletter checkbox, and nothing you type is shared with any charter operator.

It is not connected yet. The site is published as plain static pages, so nothing runs at that address to receive a message, and a submission today is not delivered anywhere at all. The form tells you so, keeps what you typed in the box, and gives you the email address instead.

When it is connected, the site will pass your name, email address, topic and message, with a label saying it came from this form and the time it was sent, to GoHighLevel, the customer system used to reply to you. It will be used to answer you and for nothing else. This page will drop the paragraph above in the same change that connects it.

The charter calculator on the home page sends nothing. It asks five questions about your trip and shows you the whole result without asking who you are. Your answers stay in your browser.

If you email the address on the contact page, that email arrives in an inbox and is kept for as long as it is useful. It is used to reply to you and to fix whatever you wrote in about. It is not added to a list, not sold and not shared.

No cookies

This site sets none. That is why you are not looking at a consent banner — there is nothing to consent to.

Your browser may store ordinary cache files for pages and images. That is your browser's own behaviour and is cleared however you normally clear it.

No analytics and no third-party scripts

There is no Google Analytics here, no tag manager, no pixel, no heatmap, no session recording and no advertising network.

There is also no chat widget. Nothing on these pages loads code from another company's servers, which means no third party receives a request from your browser when you read this site.

For a long time the only script in the build was an inert block of structured data. Two pages now carry small scripts, written here and served from here. On the home page, one steps through the calculator's questions and totals your answers. On the contact page, one sends the form.

Both run in your browser and set no cookie. The calculator stores nothing between visits and makes no request anywhere. The contact script makes one request, to this site, and only when you press send. Every other page on the site carries no script but the structured-data block.

The fonts are served from here, and once were not

Typefaces are an easy way for a site to leak visitors without meaning to. Loading them from a font service means the browser fetches them from that company on every page, handing over an IP address, a user-agent string and the address of the page being read.

This site did exactly that until recently. The sentence above about no third party receiving a request was false for as long as it lasted. The font files now sit on this site and are served from this domain, which is what makes that sentence true rather than aspirational.

Booking links go to FareHarbor

The Book online buttons on the operator page and in the trip planner go to that operator's booking page on FareHarbor, the booking system the operators use. The link carries a tag that tells FareHarbor the visit came from this site, which is how a booking earns this site a commission.

From that point you are on FareHarbor's site, under its privacy policy and the operator's. Anything you enter there — your name, your card — goes to them, not here. This site does not see whether you booked, what you paid or who you are.

Server logs

The pages are served by Replit, where the site is published as a static deployment. Like essentially every web host, it keeps standard access logs, which typically record an IP address, the page requested, a timestamp and the browser's user-agent string.

They exist so the host can run and secure the service. This site does not use them to build a profile of you or connect them to anything else. How long they are kept is set by Replit, under its own privacy policy.

Links to other sites

This site links to charter operators and government agencies. Once you follow a link you are on their site under their rules, and their privacy practices are theirs rather than ours.

Children

This site asks nobody's age and collects nothing beyond what a visitor chooses to send through the contact form or by email. If a child has sent either, write to the address on the contact page and it will be deleted.

Your rights, and why there is little to exercise them on

Privacy law gives you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. This site holds none beyond the messages people send it, so in practice there is little to request.

If you have emailed us, or once the contact form is connected sent a message through it, that message exists and you can ask for it to be deleted. Write to the address on the contact page and it will be.
