What is left off, and why

Two are not Seward operators. One ranks well for this town and never says Seward on any of its own pages — ranking for a place and being of it are different things, which is why every domain here had to mention the town on its own site before it counted. The other did not answer at all, recorded as unreachable rather than quietly dropped, because a site being down today and a business not existing are not the same fact.

Eleven are real Seward operators this site cannot book. The scan confirmed them from their own websites. One of them could be the best day you have on the water. They are simply not bookable from here, and a list of buttons that go nowhere helps nobody, so they are not listed.

More were excluded before that stage — businesses selling wildlife tours rather than fishing, charter companies based in other towns that sell a Seward trip, and guides and lodges that write about fishing without running it. Each is recorded with its reason in the site's data rather than dropped silently.

Almost everyone here books through the same system

Of the twenty the scan confirmed, fourteen take bookings online and twelve of those run FareHarbor. Two run Xola. The rest showed no booking widget any crawl could read, which means not detected rather than not there — one operator sat in that group until a closer look found FareHarbor on its own booking page.

Running FareHarbor is not the same as being in its marketplace, and only marketplace trips can be booked from this page. That is why nine of the twelve made the list. The other two were found in the marketplace itself: Seward operators the scan never reached.

Two of those listed state a founding year on their own site: 1974 and 1982. That is the operator's own claim rather than a verified record, and it is still more than most towns publish.

How to compare two operators yourself, today

Ask both the same four questions. Which fish does the trip target, and for how long? How long is the run before anybody drops a line? What does the boat provide? And what is extra?

That last one catches people out here. Fish processing and shipping are usually separate businesses from the charter, and the trip planner lists what else to budget for. A licence is yours to buy too, not the boat's — see the licence rule.

Why "best" is not a word this site uses

Every result on the first page for this town is a business selling its own trips, plus two aggregators and a forum thread. None of that establishes which boat is best, and neither would a list assembled here from the same sources.
